  • Anything that involves capturing love. I specialize in elopement photography, engagements, couples, and portrait photography. As a queer woman, I also obviously love working with LGBTQ+ couples and celebrating all types of love.

  • My photography style is natural, romantic, and timeless. I strive to capture candid, genuine moments and emotions between couples and individuals. For the more technical, my style is a mix of photojournalistic and documentary; think of me as a fly on the wall capturing your day as it unfolds. I also LOVE editorial style photos, and am happy to incorporate some posed, high-end, magazine-style editorial photos in the mix with your candid and documentary photos.

I am comfortable with both natural light and flash photography so am happy to shoot in either to accommodate your preferences.

  • I love gear — so much so that my wife shakes with fear whenever I mention the letters B&H. My current set up is my beloved Canon R6 with a CHONK of a lens: 28-70mm F2.0 (lovingly called “Big Bertha” by many photographers). This set-up is used by many professional photographers and allows me to capture almost any situation.

My personal camera is a Leica Q2 (aka my first-born child); I sometimes bring it to shoots as well if the vibe calls for it, or if you request it!

Starting November 2023, I also offer film-photos as an add-on to any package.

  • I believe in building a strong relationship with my clients based on trust, communication, and collaboration. I strive to create a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere during our sessions, allowing you to be yourself and truly enjoy the experience. And, mostly importantly, HAVE FUN!

Concretely, our work together begins after you submit an inquiry! I will respond to you ASAP and we will schedule a time to speak via phone or zoom — I love to speak to my clients sooner so we can get a feel for one another and to see if we’d be a good fit working together, as comfort with your photographer is incredibly important! During this call, we will also discuss your vision, preferences, and any specific requirements you may have in mind for your shoot. This helps me tailor my approach and ensure that I capture your desired style and story.

More globally, I value open communication and collaboration. I always say that the more information you give me, the closer we can get to bringing your dream to reality. So, send me ALL of your thoughts — I love everything from specific shot requests // sample photos to DO NOT CREATE THIS PHOTO requests. We will make your shoot personalized and very YOU.

  • Film: by popular request, starting November 2023 I will offer film photos as an add-on to any package of your choosing. Please contact me for more details!

Video: I have humbly learned that not everyone can be an expert at everything, and my expertise is definitely still picture rather than the moving picture. That being said, I work with many videographers, and am happy to recommend folks who would be happy to video your special moments.

  • After the photo session, I carefully cull and edit the best images to enhance their overall quality. I have a keen eye for detail and strive for a natural yet polished look in my editing process. This includes adjustments to color, exposure, and composition in Lightroom, as well as retouching in Photoshop if requested or necessary. My goal is to maintain the authenticity of the captured moments while ensuring the final images look their best.

The post-production time varies depending on the project's scope (ie, a 30 minute shoot will take less time than a 10 hour wedding), but I aim to deliver sneak-peak photos within 24 hours and fully edited galleries within 1-2 weeks. To humble brag, my clients have said that I provide the fastest turn around they’ve ever seen, and that the speed of return does not compromise quality.

Once the images are ready, I provide you an online gallery via a photo-sharing website called pic-time, where you can view, download, and share your photographs. I also offer high-quality printing options and photo albums for clients who wish to have physical copies of their cherished memories.

  • You can book a session with me by filling out the contact form on my website or by sending me an email (cardieriphotography.com).

I also am very responsive via text, please feel free to shoot me a text at 917-363-8187 even if you're not ready to book but have some questions!
