Photography  Philosophy

My style is documentary photography. That means I like to capture captures things as they happen, without much intervention or posing. The goal is to capture your story as honestly and authentically as possible, almost as if I’m not even there. This “fly on the wall” philosophy is intentional; I strongly believe that the secret to taking a great photograph is to capture the essence of who you truly are (individually and as a couple). That means seeing the scene, and you, as you are, without alteration, and capturing the beauty in the authenticity of these moments.

That being said, I value creating a space where everyone feels comfortable and confident. I always ask my couples “how much or how little do you want my prompting,” and we go from there based on your comfort level. Prompts are meant to be silly, fun, and (most importantly) to loosen you up in front of the camera, allowing for the natural and authentic moments described above to reveal themselves. Beautiful pictures are important (and damn, my pictures are beautiful), but to me, the most important part of our entire experience is to have FUN.
